Babita Palukurthi was born in a Christian family; at age 15, she received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour in an evangelistic camp conducted by Evangelical Union (EU). She has been involved in the student ministry and mentoring the students. God has gifted her the ability to sing. She holds an M.A. from Kalinga University and worked as a teacher before marriage. She married Chanukya and was blessed with three daughters Neethi Charissa, Ruby Glorissa, and Nidhi Merissa.
